Clean Water Action recently convinced the Environmental Protection Agency to list the Houston Ship Channel as a "toxic hot spot." The trip will tour sites of known contamination and provide the news media and the interested public the opportunity to learn about America's industrial pollution problem. The tour will include marine and toxic experts as well as people who make their living from fishing and seafood harvesting in Galveston Bay. Recent reports documenting pollution in the ship channel and Galveston Bay by Clean Water Action, Texans United, and other organizations will be available as part of the tour.
