InterNation Roundtable
(for professional journalists)
In May of 1987, InterNation was created to develop investigative reports on subjects of international interest and to syndicate them to independent publications and broadcasters for simultaneous release in as many media markets as possible.
InterNation comprises two basic components:
- A worldwide network of investigative journalists.
- A consortium of cooperating publications, each with right of first refusal to publish InterNation reports in their market.
In 1988, broadcasters and independent TV producers were brought into the consortium.
The rationale for InterNation is that by pooling fees and combining the investigative skills and contacts of many publications, resources can be made available to conduct the long and complex research required to cover such difficult and expansive international topics as:
- Multinational corporations
- International banking
- Global communications
- Environment
- Military and intelligence operations
- Transnational think tanks and policy institutes
- Trade unions and labor movements
- Drug and illicit arms trafficking
- Religion
- Technology transfer
- Cultural hegemony
- Medicine and health care
